Shell, one of the world’s biggest oil and gas companies, has realigned its company strategy to become the largest electricity company by the 2030s. Shell has identified a fundamental shift in global energy supplies towards lower-carbon sources and forecasts 40% of energy globally by 2060 will be from renewable sources. Shell also forecasts global energy demand to double by 2050 compared to its year 2000 level. This is a great example of traditional carbon fuel companies transitioning to a cleaner energy world.
